Have you ever wanted to learn topics relating to Prepping, right from bona-fide experts? Things like clearing a room with a firearm like a professional, Wilderness Medicine, what exactly is involved with getting a HAM radio license, and a myriad of other topics?

Well, wait no more! We’ve assembled a group of experts (who are also Preppers!) to do just that! People like Brian Duff, Sam Bradley, Kyle Nelson, Dale Goodwin, and Dr. Arlyn Labair, MD, AAFP will join us for a full weekend of fun, education, and LOTS of hands-on learning!

We’ve put together a weekend full of subjects we think you’ll not only enjoy, but will help accelerate your preparedness journey by giving you an education in subjects not normally covered in most forums, blogs, and websites, right from the experts themselves. In. Person.

Day 1: (8am until ….?)
“Wilderness Medicine” Day

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is normally a 16-hour course, designed for laypersons with no formal medical background or training, and is an outstanding introduction to wilderness medicine. Saturday will be dedicated covering most of the topics normally presented in the usual 16-hour WFA course, along with hands-on practice labs with experienced medical professionals.  Although there is no certification for this day of training, you will walk away better prepared to handle most wilderness emergencies.

The topics that will be covered will include:

  • Introduction / Description of WFA
  • Vital Sign Assessment: Lecture / Practice
  • Patient Assessment: Demonstration/Lecture/Practice
  • Bleeding and Shock
  • Wound Management: Lecture / Practice
  • Abdominal and Chest Injuries
  • Drowning / Lightning Injuries
  • Extremity Injuries (Fractures/Dislocations/Immobilization)
  • Spinal immobilization and patient transport workshop
  • First Aid Kits

Day 2: (8am until 5pm)
“Everything Else” Day

  • Room Clearing/CQB (Brian Duff)
  • HAM Radios – There’s More Involved Than Just Talking (Dale Goodwin)
  • Natural Hazards Awareness for the Non-Urban Responder (Kyle Nelson)
  • Envenomation Myths & Truths (Dr. Ben Abo)
  • Zombie Apocolypse Scenario (Sam Bradley & Dr. Arlyn LaBair)

Brian Duff – former Army Ranger, Paramedic, and creator & host of Mind4Survival podcast and blog.

Sam Bradley – Author, Fire & EMS Educator, DMAT Paramedic/Training Officer, former National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care Supervisor, and co-host of the Disaster Podcast.
Dale Goodwin – Creator and co-host of the Survivalist Prepper Podcast, HAM Radio operator, and nationally-recognized blogger.
Kevin Reiter – Wilderness Safety Institute’s CEO and Training Director
Dr. Arlyn LaBair, MD, AAFP is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
